Brian Bledsoe, Chief Meteorologist/Climatologist KKTV 11 News

<p”>Brian Bledsoe is the Chief Meteorologist/Climatologist for KKTV 11 News in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He runs his own private weather consulting business, and has been serving farmers and ranchers for the past 20+years. Brian’s goal is to help AG producers make their business more successful, by using accurate weather forecasts, both short term and long term. His strong background in agriculture is important, as he recognizes the need for good common-sense weather forecasting that can be readily used by farmers and ranchers. Brian has several clients scattered around the Great Plains as well as the whole United States.  He frequently speaks all across the region about weather and the importance of using long range forecasting to help your business.

Nevil Speer

Nevil Speer works as an industry consultant based in Bowling Green, Kentucky.   He has experience in both academia and private industry.  His career includes working with several start-ups along with various service and consultation projects spanning a wide variety of topics.  In addition, he has authored several influential industry white papers and currently serves as a regular contributor to Drovers.

Dr. Speer holds a PhD in Animal Sciences from Colorado State University and an MBA from Western Kentucky University.

General Session II

Gregg Doud, President & CEO of the National Milk Producers Federation

Gregg brings an unparalleled global perspective and economic expertise to his previous roles and currently sits as President & CEO of the National Milk Producers Federation.

Previously, Gregg has served in the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative as Chief Agricultural Negotiator with the rank of U.S. Ambassador. He was one of the primary architects of the U.S.-China “Phase One” trade agreement.

Gregg has previously served as President of the Commodity Markets Council, the leading trade association for commodity futures exchanges and their industry counterparts, where he worked to lead the industry in addressing global market and risk management issues. As a senior staff member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, Doud helped craft the 2012 Senate Farm Bill working on international trade, food aid, livestock, and oversight of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Doud served as Chief Economist for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association for eight years and is a former market analyst for the U.S. Wheat Associates.

Raised on a dry-land wheat, grain sorghum, soybean, swine, and cow-calf operation near Mankato in North-Central Kansas, Doud continues to be involved in his family’s 100-year-old farm and is a partner in a commercial cow-calf operation. He received a B.S. in Agriculture with an emphasis in animal science, as well as a M.S. in agricultural economics from Kansas State University. He currently resides with his family on their horse farm in Lothian, Maryland.

Rules & Guidelines

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY:

Notice of cancellation must be given to MSGA in writing. Cancellation by an exhibitor of any portion of exhibit space reserved results in the following: Prior to September 30, 2024 exhibitors will receive a 100% refund. September 30, 2024 or after; all money paid will be forfeited. No refunds will be made after this date.

BOOTH PREFERENCES

We do our best to accommodate everyone’s top preferences, but we cannot guarantee your preferences. Booths are assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis with a priority given to $3,000+ sponsors.

Payment MUST accompany registration for preference consideration. Registration MUST be submitted by September 30 for preference consideration. Booth assignments will be announced after November 1, 2024.

EXIBIT BOOTH CONSTRUCTION

Exhibit booths are 8’ x 8’. All booths will include a 6’ table & 2 chairs. We are unable to accommodate booth set ups bigger than 8’ x 8’. Please confirm signage and booth set up will fit in the 8’ x 8’ space before the event.

AUCTIONS, DRAWINGS, AND RAFFLES

The Blue and Gold Massey Tractor Raffle

Each year the Montana Stockgrowers Association and Massey Ferguson partner and raffle a four (4) month tractor lease. This year, MSGA and Massey Ferguson are offering an opportunity for FFA chapters around the state to use our partnership as a fundraising tool for their chapters to help raise funds from travel, state convention, chapter activities, or national convention. Participating Montana FFA Chapters will receive 50% of the proceeds from the tickets they sell.

Tickets are one (1) for $20 or six (6) tickets for $100. The raffle ticket prize is use of a Massey Ferguson Tractor and Loader for 200 hours or 4 months. The raffle will be held during MSGA’s Annual Convention & Trade Show on December 6, 2024, during the Grand Finale Banquet, in Billings, MT.

Raffle tickets can be purchased from participating Montana FFA chapters, through an MSGA board member, or the MSGA office at (406) 442-3420.

Priority Page Auction

The Montana Seedstock and Commercial Cattle Directory, published each August by the Montana Stockgrowers Association, is your resource for Montana cattle. This premier directory is mailed to MSGA members, livestock markets, feeders, and cattle buyers across the U.S. It is also distributed at the numerous national and statewide trade shows, seedstock sales, and other national and state agricultural events. The Montana Stockgrowers Association Seedstock Committee is excited to continue the buyer incentive program. This year, one buyer’s name will be drawn and will receive a 5% incentive rebate of the total pool of sales for the evening. The drawing and cash award will be presented at the MidYear Meeting. Any priority page selling for $1,500 will be allotted 3 entries. Priority pages selling for increments of $500 above the $1,500 base will be given one additional entry. Auction will be hosted on Friday, December 6 at the Grand Finale Banquet.

Producer Partnership Hay Auction

The Producer Partnership has generously donated 27 tons of hay to be put up for auction to benefit the Montana Stockgrowers Association. High quality, never been rained on, alfalfa grass hay. Hay will be delivered to the auction winner. Auction will be hosted on Friday, December 6 at the Grand Finale Banquet.

Cancrete Waterer Auction

Cancrete has donated a C250 Waterer to benefit the Montana Stockgrowers Foundation and their mission of investing in Montana’s ranching community through leadership, education, and conservation. Auction will be hosted on Friday, December 6 at the Grand Finale Banquet. All proceeds benefit the Montana Stockgrowers Foundation.

EVENT INTERNSHIPS

The MSGA Annual Convention Internship Program was created to provide students with a hands-on experience of the various facets of association event planning and execution, policy development, social media engagement and coverage.

Applications will be accepted July 1, 2024, through September 15, 2024.

Policy Intern

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist policy staff with the facilitation of policy meetings
  • Work with policy committee members on on-site meeting needs
  • Prepare policy documents for second and third readings of policy during business meetings.
  • Attend Stockgrowers Colleges and prepare summaries for the content discussed for the MSGA newsletter.
  • Other tasks as assigned to ensure all event activities are executed. These tasks may or may not be directly policy related.

Reports To: MSGA Director of Natural Resources

Communications & Media Relations Intern

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Create content during the event for social media and website channels (Facebook, Instagram, & other accounts).
  • Write event press releases daily.
  • Featured Events and Activities of the Day.
  • Photograph and take video of the event.
  • Be available to assist with media requests and assist with scheduling interviews with local news, radio, or print outlets.
  • Other tasks as assigned to ensure all event activities are executed. These tasks may or may not be directly media related.

Reports To: MSGA Director of Marketing & Communications

General Production Intern

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide event support to MSGA staff.
  • Serve as a point of contact at the convention registration area.
  • Assist with the logistical preparation of the event.
  • Assist with coordination and execution of the event, breakout sessions, and special guest needs.
  • Assist with the trade show in setup and vendors/sponsor relations.
  • Other tasks as assigned to ensure all event activities are executed.

Reports To: MSGA Director of Marketing & Communications
