The Creed of Montana and American National CattleWomen:
Believing that the livestock industry is of basic importance to world existence we, the American National CattleWomen dedicate ourselves to support it with our labor and finances, to promote it through information and publicity, to encourage its producers with understanding and love to do all in our power to instill in the coming generations the love of the land and of life, the humility and awe before nature, and the hope and faith in the future that is inherent in Cattlemen.
Legislative Voice:
The Montana CattleWomen staff a lobbyist as well as actively participate in efforts to support bills that are positive for the beef industry and beneficial to ranching communities. A calling tree informing the membership and our state and national Congressman regarding legislation concerning cattle producers make the Montana CattleWomen very persuasive.
Communication:
To keep our members informed and provide exchange of ideas for greater effectiveness in beef promotion, the CattleWomen provide:
- Newsletters
- Meetings
- Workshops
- Conventions
Beef Educators:
The Montana CattleWomen have joined forces with federal, state and private agencies in a program designed to preserve Montana’s history and improve landscapes and communities along the Lewis and Clark Trail, known as Undaunted Stewardship.
Montana CattleWomen also continue to work with Junior and Senior High Schools throughout Montana reaching over 8,000 students with information and materials on the nutritional value of beef and how to buy, store, cook and serve beef.
The Perfect Cheeseburger Program, a hands-on-demonstration designed by Montana CattleWomen, reached over 1,100 third grade students last year educating them on the nutritional facts of beef.
Beef Promoters:
The Montana CattleWomen remain the driving force behind many of today’s most effective beef promotion efforts by partnering with other major companies such as McDonalds, holding in-store demonstrations, cook-offs, a state beef ambassador competition, nutritional conferences and trade shows.
Supporting Youth in Agriculture:
The Montana CattleWomen believe that the livestock industry is of basic importance to world existence. As part of our creed dictates, we will do all in our power to instill in the coming generations the love of the land and of life, the humility and awe before nature, and the hope and faith in the future that is inherent in cattlemen and cattlewomen. With this in mind, the Montana CattleWomen are proud supporters of FFA, FCCLA, 4-H, Montana Range Days, Young Ag Couples, Ag in Montana Schools and, provide a college scholarship which is awarded annually to a student in consumer science, agriculture or an allied field.
