[HELENA, Mont.] – On December 12, 2019, the U.S. Senate confirmed Aurelia Skipwith as Director of U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. As a longstanding supporter of Skipwith’s nomination, MSGA applauds the vote to move forward with Skipwith as Director.

In March, MSGA President, Fred Wacker, and Executive Vice President, Jay Bodner, sent a letter to President Trump expressing MSGA’s support in the nomination of Skipwith for Director of U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Skipwith’s previous experience and ability to critically evaluate and take the proactive actions for our increasingly complex wildlife management issues would greatly benefit Montana ranchers.

“In our engagement with Ms. Skipwith, she has shown her commitment to engage stakeholders and understand our perspectives on key natural resource issues,” said Wacker. “Our experience has also shown Ms. Skipwith understands and is well suited to address the unique challenges facing ranchers in the West.”

MSGA would like to thank Senator Steve Daines for his vote in support of Skipwith’s confirmation.
