HELENA, Mont. (January 16, 2020) – The Montana Stockgrowers Association is pleased to announce the passage of the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), which is vital for U.S. beef producers.

The USMCA is designed to boost economic growth by modernizing the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). The agreement also ensures U.S. producers have continued duty-free, unrestricted access to Canada and Mexico, which is worth roughly $1.8 billion a year.

“The passage of the USMCA is great for Montana ranchers and will provide our producers the certainty they need to continue to raise some of the best beef in the world,” said MSGA President, Fred Wacker. “We look forward to seeing this agreement implemented soon.” MSGA would like to thank the bipartisan efforts of our Montana representatives, U.S. Senator Jon Tester, U.S. Senator Steve Daines, and Congressman Greg Gianforte, in the passage of this beneficial agreement.
