HELENA, Mont. (July 30, 2020) – MSGA is pleased to announce the Water Rights Protection Act (S 3019) passed out of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs this week.

For more than 130 years, MSGA has been dedicated to influencing public policy improving the profitability of Montana’s ranching families and protecting their private property rights. Water is easily the single most important resource for people across Montana. The success of Montana’s agriculture industry is dependent upon water and water right certainty.

MSGA would like to thank Senators Steve Daines and Jon Tester for their leadership on this critical piece of legislation which will save Montana taxpayers, and members of our agriculture industry, millions of dollars and preventing decades of unnecessary litigation.
