The Montana Stockgrowers Association (MSGA) is pleased to announce the selection of Cheyenne Leach, Jana Owen, Asha Malcolm, and Cadence Lommori to serve as interns for MSGA’s 2023 Annual Convention & Trade Show Internship Program. This internship program is made possible from support of the Montana Stockgrowers Foundation. In its second year, the internship program provides students with hands-on experience of the various facets of association event planning and execution, policy development, social media engagement and coverage.
Cheyenne Leach will return for the second year to the policy position and is a senior at Oklahoma State University studying agricultural communications. She most recently served as a legislative intern under the office of Oklahoma Senator, Markwayne Mullin, and under Oklahoma Congressman Frank D. Lucas.
Jana Owen will serve in the communications and media relations position and is a senior at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, majoring in animal science and minoring in agricultural communications. Jana has interned with the American Shorthorn Association, Tennessee 4-H Foundation, and the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture Genomics Department.
Asha Malcolm will serve in the general production position and is a senior at Montana State University studying animal science. Asha is a fifth generation rancher from the Livingston area and is proudly carrying that tradition on with her own cattle herd. Her experience has connected her with companies like Malcolm Mile Hi Ranch, LLC, Sleeping Giant Genetics, and Prairie Summit Veterinary Clinic.
Cadence Lommori will also serve in a communications and media relations position and is a junior at Montana State University majoring in agricultural communications. Cadence is the Sigma Alpha Public Relations Chair where she provides fresh, creative ideas to the organization through social media, graphic design, photography, and newsletter creation.
MSGA’s 139th Annual Convention & Trade Show is slated for December 6-8, 2023, in Billings, Montana. The event will provide education, information, fellowship, and an opportunity for the beef industry and MSGA members to set policy that will shape the landscape of cattle ranching in Montana.
