The Montana Stockgrowers Association (MSGA) is pleased to announce that Ian Kane will serve as Montana’s representative for the 2026 Young Cattlemen’s Conference (YCC), a national leadership program designed to develop the next generation of leaders in the beef industry.
Hosted by the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA), YCC provides young cattlemen and cattlewomen with a comprehensive, firsthand look at all segments of the beef industry. The 2026 program will take place May 28 – June 4, with participants traveling alongside peers from across the country.
The conference is designed to deepen participants’ understanding of the beef supply chain while also strengthening leadership skills and industry awareness. A key component of the program includes visits to Capitol Hill, where attendees will meet with congressional offices, including Montana’s delegation, to advocate for policies impacting cattle producers nationwide.
Kane currently serves on staff with MSGA as the Membership Representative, where he leads membership recruitment and retention efforts, oversees member services, and supports industry relations and advertising. Originally from north central Tennessee, Kane earned a degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. While a student, he completed multiple internships across the beef industry, gaining experience in feedlot and seedstock operations, as well as with a breed association.
