The Montana Stockgrowers Association (MSGA) is pleased to announce the selection of four interns who will support the association’s Annual Convention and Trade Show, scheduled for December 3–5, 2026, in Billings, Montana.
MSGA’s Annual Convention Internship Program provides students with an opportunity to explore the various facets of association work while gaining valuable industry experience. The program is supported by grant funds from the Montana Stockgrowers Foundation.
Leah Beery of Vida, Montana, is a senior at South Dakota State University pursuing a degree in agricultural sciences with a minor in animal science. As a General Production Intern, Beery will draw on her background growing up in eastern Montana and her experience working on her family’s ranch. Beery hopes to return to the family operation after graduation and views the internship as an opportunity to learn from producers and industry leaders.
Kaylee Erickson of Missoula, Montana, is pursuing a Master of Business Administration at the University of Montana, building on her background in business administration and marketing. As the Communications and Media Relations Intern, Erickson will bring experience in social media management, photography, and content creation from her previous work with the Washington State Potato Commission and Washington State Potato Foundation. She looks forward to learning more about Montana’s cattle industry and the role MSGA plays in advocating for livestock producers.
Mackenzie Serrano of Roundup, Montana, is a student at the University of Idaho studying agricultural science communication and leadership. As a General Production Intern, Serrano will bring experience in livestock nutrition, marketing and producer relations. A former Montana FFA State Officer, Serrano is passionate about agricultural leadership and sharing the stories of Montana’s agricultural producers. After graduation, Serrano hopes to pursue a career combining agriculture, communications, and producer engagement.
Tayla Wiedeman of Eaton, Colorado, is a junior at Texas Tech University pursuing a degree in agricultural communications with minors in political science and agribusiness management. Returning as the Policy Intern after serving in the same role during the 2025 Annual Convention and Trade Show, Wiedeman is actively involved in agricultural leadership as president of Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow and a member of Matador Collegiate Farm Bureau and Ag Ambassadors. Wiedeman hopes to pursue a career in government affairs and advocate for agriculture at the state and national levels.

MSGA’s Annual Convention and Trade Show will provide education, information, and an opportunity for the beef industry and MSGA members to set policy that will shape the landscape of cattle ranching in Montana.
