The Montana Stockgrowers Association (MSGA) is pleased to announce the selection of Kelcy Bergstrom, Hunter Haslem and Kylie Schakel to serve as interns for MSGA’s 2024 Annual Convention & Trade Show. This internship program is made possible through a grant received from the Montana Stockgrowers Foundation. In its third year, the convention internship program provides students with hands-on experience of the various facets of association event planning and execution, policy development, social media engagement and coverage.
Kelcy Bergstrom, Manhattan, Kansas
Kelcy Bergstrom will serve in the general production position and is a sophomore at Kansas State University (KSU), majoring in agricultural communications and journalism. Kelcy serves as an officer for the KSU Collegiate CattleWomen and hopes to work in livestock marketing and photography.
Hunter Haslem, Durham, California
Hunter Haslem will serve in the policy position and is a sophomore at Oklahoma State University (OSU), majoring in agricultural communications and environmental science: policy. Hunter is a 7th-generation rancher and has previously worked as a conference assistant for California FFA.
Kylie Schakel, Manhattan, Kansas
Kylie Schakel will serve in the communications position and is a senior at Kansas State University (KSU), majoring in agricultural communications and journalism. Kylie is active on the KSU livestock judging team and has previously worked for the American Farm Bureau Federation, the Kansas State College of Agriculture, and the Indiana State Department of Agriculture.
MSGA’s 140th Annual Convention & Trade Show is slated for December 4-6, 2024, in Billings, Montana. The event will provide education, information, fellowship, and an opportunity for the beef industry and MSGA members to set policy that will shape the landscape of cattle ranching in Montana.
